The Chapel Event Coordinator
We rent our building to outside users, for parties, weddings/receptions, seminars, business meetings and other types of events. Our Event Coordinator works with the renters to make sure that their event is successful and fun. We are currently in need of someone to fill this (paid) position. The events are typically on Saturday evening and you would be in charge of the event, with additional (paid) hosts assisting you. If this is something you might be interested in, please contact Becky in the Office at firstname.lastname@example.org. If you would like to be part of the team, please let her know that as well.
2015 Missions Trip
We are currently organizing an ALaskan missions trip to Hydaburg Culture Camp, July 19-26 this Summer.
Team Size: 10-12 would work great.
Basic Information about trip: Hydaburg Culture Camp
Each year, the village of Hydaburg hosts a Culture Camp that welcomes Alaska native people from all over Southeast Alaska. This gathering advances native culture by celebrating food, artistic expression and dance.
We will help the village put on a celebration of culture for all of Southeast Alaska. There’s tons of set up, tear down, plus they teach their kids old ways of putting up food, totem carving, painting, basket weaving and lots of other stuff. The week will end with a huge potlatch dinner and native dancing.
We will be preparing all of our team meals … and there might be the option to do some gathering and canning of sea asparagus.
Accommodations: In a church or at the boys & girls club, both places have kitchens that teams use for cooking.
