Babyshower for Diana Villalpando-Leong
We will be showering Diana and her baby girl Karsyn Marybeth on Sunday, September 6th, 6:00 PM, here at the Chapel. Diana is registered at registry.com under Diana Villalpando or Daniel Leong. There is also a group gift you can give towards. Talk to Marissa Rice to contribute. They are choosing to not find out what they are having until their little arrives, how fun!

8th Annual Back to School Taco Feed
We will be celebrating our kids returning to school, Friday, 9/11, 5:30-7:30 PM. The meal is free, but we provide all the fixings. We will serve tacos, taco salad and nachos, so sign up at the Event Table to bring items for the meal. If you are providing fresh items, please be sure to make sure that they are prepared (cooked and seasoned ground meat, diced tomatoes, shredded lettuce and cheese, etc.) We are inviting the staff and faculty from MLA (Multi-Sensory Learning Academy- Middle School) to join us. This is a fun event and it is our way of celebrating a new school year. Please sign up at the Event Table to bring items, also to set up, serve and cleanup.

PrimeTimers
This month, the PrimeTimers are taking a road trip to Boring, OR to take a tour of the Guide Dogs for the Blind. They will meet at the church at 11:00AM to carpool. Wear good walking shoes, for the tour. After they are done, they will head back to Gresham for lunch at Heidi’s on Cleveland/Burnside.

Don’t forget that by eating at Restorante Di Pompello, in beautiful Downtown Troutdale, you will be getting rewards for our building fund. The church will receive 10% for Lunch & Dinner and 15% for Breakfast! Make sure you ask your server to sign your receipt to validate your reward. Then turn your signed receipts in to the Church Office or drop in the collection jar in the lobby. Invite someone to go to out with you after church!

Can and Bottle Returns
Bring your cans and bottles to The Chapel, for us to turn in for Vision Fund money. There is a container in the Cafe to leave them in.

Cookbooks are here!
Our first cookbook has arrived and is for sale. Our Holiday cookbook is now in the works, and our PrimeTimers are collecting the favorite holiday recipes for it. You can pick up a recipe sheet at the information booth. The books will be sold individually or as a set at our upcoming Holiday Bazaar in October. They will make great Christmas gifts for friends and family, so get those recipes turned in today! All the proceeds go to our Vision Fund.

We have some things that need to be done, before the first of September, so there will be a work night on Friday, 8/28 from 6:00-9:00 PM. You can come straight from work, bring grubbies to wear and you can have some pizza and help get our projects done. Teens and adults are welcome. There is stuff for men and women. So plan to join us!

We will be having hamburgers, hot dogs, and a couple of sides. The food will be purchased prior to the 5th Sunday Family Affair. We are asking families to donate $5.00 and individuals $3.00 at the time of serving. A family is defined as two adults with their children who live at home. Since this is a Family Affair, games would be nice for Toddlers and the CKC kids. Please contact Eve Kaiser if you would like to help with the games or even take charge of the games. Please be sure to sign up at the Event Table, so we make sure we have enough food.

Family Day is Saturday, 8/22, at Feyrer Park, Molalla, OR.  The park entrance day use fee is $5.00 per car. Here are the days events: All You Can Eat Pancake Fundraiser Breakfast 8:00-9:00 AM, Family games 10:00-11:00 AM, Baptism 1:00 PM, Potluck meal and camp church at 3:00 PM, campout committee is providing pulled BBQ pork sandwiches, guests please bring non-spoilable sides or drinks. Bring swim suits! The river will feel GREAT this year!

Chapel Ladies Luncheon
The ladies will be meeting at the Blue Bird Diner on Main St in Downtown Gresham for lunch at Noon. They usually walk over to the Gresham Farmers Market after lunch. Bring a friend and join them.

Save Your Resalable Items!
Our Vision Fundraising Group is planning a Rummage/Garage Sale in June 2016. We will hold it the same Saturday as Sandee Palisades Garage Sale. So this fall as you do your fall cleaning, please find a corner in your home to put away any resalable items that you can donate to the sale. We have no room at The Chapel for storage, but we want everyone to know to prepare.
