Hey guys, join Pastor David at Stompin’ Grounds in Fairview for a great time of discussion and accountability. They meet weekly, 7:00-8:00 AM.

A study for women at Donna Brown’s home, Tuesday, 2/3, 6:30-8:00 PM. It is lead by Hope Nealey. You must buy your book. The workbook is optional.

Fresh Hope
Become part of a  network of Christian support groups for those who suffer from a mental health challenge and for those who love them. This group lead by Sylvia Maly, will start on Tuesday, 2/24 and meet every Tuesday, Youth Room, 7:00 PM. Contact Sylvia at freshhope@thechapelonline.org if you have any questions.

Wednesday, March 4th
Mommie’s Time
Calling all Mom’s! This is a great time to let your kids play, as you fellowship with other mom’s. They meet in our nursery from 9:30-10:30 AM every Wednesday morning. Bring a friend along.

We serve a hot lunch on Wednesdays, 11:00-1:00 PM. Join us as a guest, or talk to Dave Wilson or Bob Rieker, if you would like to volunteer.

Wednesday Night Community Dinner
We will be sharing a meal on Wednesday, 3/4, 5:45 PM. It’s a potluck, so bring a main dish and a salad or dessert to share. After dinner you can head off to Youth Group. Others can hang around for fellowship.

Our Youth gather at 6:30 PM for a time of fellowship, teaching, accountability and encouragement. Bring a friend.

We will celebrate Kevin’s life on Saturday, 3/7, 2:00 PM here at The Chapel. Please bring a dessert or fruit to share.

Primetimers
They will be meeting on Tuesday, 3/10, 11:00-1:00 PM. There will be a report from Rhona Mahl, with Braking Cycles and they will work on filling Easter Eggs for the Wood Village Easter Egg Hunt. It’s a potluck, so bring something to share for lunch and a friend or two.

Memorial for Ken DeGrazia
We will be gathering to celebrate the life of Ken DeGrazia on Saturday, 3/14, 2:00 PM. There will be a reception immediately following.

PrimeTimers Recipe Book Fundraiser
The PrimeTimers are looking for recipes for their recipe book fundraiser, to raise funds for the Vision Fund. Pick up a sheet, fill it out and return to Kathy Cullinson by 4/26. One recipe per sheet, please!

Opportunities to Serve
Northwest Children’s Outreach (NCO)NCO provides clothing free of charge for children ages 0-18 in the East County area. They meet on Monday nights, 7:00-8:30 PM to fill orders received from vetted Service Providers (The Chapel is one of them). On Thursday mornings, from 10:30-12:30 PM, the Service Providers stop by to pick up their orders for their clients and any volunteers who are here can sort through donations to refill the tubs for the next weeks orders. If  you have a group who plan to volunteer, please contact Winona McGann, mcgannwinona@yahoo.com. Individuals, can just show up to work.

The Chapel Event Coordinator
We rent our building to outside users, for parties, weddings/receptions, seminars, business meetings and other types of events. Our Event Coordinator works with the renters to make sure that their event is successful and fun. We are currently in need of someone to fill this (paid) position. The events are typically on Saturday evening and you would be in charge of the event, with additional (paid) hosts assisting you.  If this is something you might be interested in, please contact Becky in the Office at becky@thechapelonline.org. If you would like to be part of the team, please let her know that as well.

2015 Missions Trip
We are currently organizing an ALaskan missions trip to Hydaburg Culture Camp, July 19-26 this Summer.

Team Size: 10-12 would work great.

Basic Information about trip: Hydaburg Culture Camp

Each year, the village of Hydaburg hosts a Culture Camp that welcomes Alaska native people from all over Southeast Alaska. This gathering advances native culture by celebrating food, artistic expression and dance.

We will help the village put on a celebration of culture for all of Southeast Alaska. There’s tons of set up, tear down, plus they teach their kids old ways of putting up food, totem carving, painting, basket weaving and lots of other stuff. The week will end with a huge potlatch dinner and native dancing.

We will be preparing all of our team meals … and there might be the option to do some gathering and canning of sea asparagus.

Accommodations: In a church or at the boys & girls club, both places have kitchens that teams use for cooking.

Cost:

  • Cost of Flight to and from Ketchikan ($400.00)
  • Ferry from Kitchikan to Prince of Wales Island. ($100.00)
  • Blessing our local contact rep / Transportation / Food ($385.00)
  • Spending Money ($100.00)

Total: $1,100.00 – $1,250.00

Quilting for Pregnancy Resource Center
Donna Brown is hosting one more quilting day to make quilts for Pregnancy Resource Center. She has room for 7 people to bring their sewing machines and sew together in her home on 2/21, 9:00-2:00 PM. Bring a salad to share for lunch. If you have fabric to donate to the cause, bring it and give it to Donna. If you want to crochet a blanket, you can bring it to church on 2/22. They will deliver the blankets on 2/25. Sign up at the Event Table.
